We got back from our Disneyworld trip Tuesday night with a sick Nathan. :( I have been waiting to blog about our experience but between hosting my mom to help get started on the nursery, taking care of a sick hubby, and trying to get the house back into shape…it has taken some time. I am making up for the time by listening to the Beauty and the Beast soundtrack while writing this…it takes me back to that magical place. :)
We left on December 27th (the day after the blizzard that hit Indiana.) We were so excited all morning that we just HAD to put our Minnie Mouse ears on as soon as we got to the Indianapolis airport. (Big thanks to Sami’s sister for there cuties!) We celebrated with some alcohol and a double chocolate chip frappuccino for this mamma-to-be. We hopped on the Disney Magical Express to take us to the Art of Animation Resort. This is the newest on-site resort and it was GORGEOUS!
These sketches were found all around the resort, even in the Christmas wreaths and garland that were hung all around (very festive!) They inspired us to take a couple home…pictures to come with the nursery update. :)
After checking out the room we immediately got on the bus to head to Magic Kingdom…not a moment wasted in this magical place.
And then it was time for the parade and some fireworks. It was a great end to our first night. We had front row seats and hot chocolate…what else could you ask for?!?
After seeing the parade, castle projections, and fireworks we decided to check out a few more rides and the new fantasyland before going back.
(Thinking of Dave before riding the haunted mansion ride.)
In Gaston’s tavern
Hanging with Ariel in her grotto. She called Sami’s phone a “shellphone” and Amanda’s earrings “bubbles.”
The boys joining in on the fun.
One last stop before leaving for the night…getting Mickey ears for baby Brynzlee. (Making the name and spelling permanent! It took a long time to figure this out but I am kinda in LOVE with the fact that Erin helped us find a way to spell it so that we can call her Bryn and it doesn’t look silly.) After reading Angie Smith’s book I Will Carry You and being inspired by the photo of her family at Disney while she was pregnant with Audrey…I knew this photo was a must.
Such a beautiful photo with so much meaning! I was definitely thinking about their family and our own angels during this trip.
Time for a break….next up: Hollywood Studios.
